THE WORLD'S SPICIEST NOODLES CHALLENGE (Not 1, Not 2, but THREE VARIANTS!!!)
This is worth our FIRRSTTT EVER blog post because this adventure is so CRAAZZZYYYY!
Let us share to you our INSANE experience on trying this latest craze: EATING THE WORLD'S SPICIEST NOODLES CHALLENGE or THE FIRE NOODLES CHALLENGE. But then, we are so crazy, we did not stop with just one variant, we wanted to try 3!!!
NOODLES TREASURE HUNTING
Well, looking for these noodles was already quite an adventure for us. It is SOOOO IN DEMAND that it is so difficult to find one. We started looking at 1pm and ended at 7pm. Yeah, everybody's going gaga for these noodles!
We started our adventure going to Sarang Mart on Kalayaan Ave, to no avail. But then, we pursued our Noodles Treasure Hunting trip. We drove from Kalayaan Ave to Timog Ave. We went to Shine Korea Supermarket, and they said they are out of stock. Across the road, there is another, Sinla Mart Korean Grocery store, but still they have NONE. What?! But hey, we think maybe our local grocery stores might have one. We went to Robinsons and Savemore, both don't have these noodles!
It was already becoming tiring as traffic around Quezon City began to build up. But having entrepreneurs' blood, we don't easily give up. We reached for our phone and started looking online. There, someone gave us hope. She said to meet in Banawe at around 4:30pm so she can sell us 3 packs. We drove from Tandang Sora to Banawe and we arrived there at 4pm. We then bought 15 bottles of Yakult on our way. Excited? Haha! But then our excitement went down when we realized we got stood up. Ateeeee, why us?! It's already 5pm and she is not replying anymore. But we gave her the benefit of the doubt. While waiting, we went to E Rodriguez Ave to visit another Narae Korean MiniMart just across St. Lukes Hospital. But still, there's NONEEE!! We also went to Waltermart around the area but still to no avail.
ALMOST BROKEN HEARTED
We went back in Banawe hoping she would show up. It's already 6:30pm and she's not replying anymore. Sadly, we have no choice but to leave. We decided to go back at Shine and Sinla on Timog Ave since they are just around the area. We are looking this time for alternatives. And then upon entering Shine Mart, it seems like the doors of heaven opened up! HALLELUJAH!!! There are cup noodles version of it!! The store clerks said that they just replenished the stock at this time. Whew!! Yeaaahhhh! We bought SamYang Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen (black @ 75 pesos each) and the 2x Spicy (Red @79 pesos each) at Shine and we bought the Cheese flavor (@65 pesos each) at Sinla.
THE VERDICT
FINALLY!!! We will be able to try the WORLD'S SPICIEST NOODLES! The three of us sisters are so good on eating spicy food and we felt that this is just a piece of cake. Or so we thought!!!
We first tried the INSANE LEVEL! Which is the red one. The dreaded 2x Spicy. We don't know why we even tried this first. Crazy sisters. Haha!
We said we love spicy food. Name it and we will eat it. But hey, what happened? Here's one of our reactions. Embarrassing and funny!
We want to share the experience as authentic as we can so here's the video for you! One of us trying the crazy Samyang noodles 2x spicy!
So there you have it. That's our first try. When you tried it the first time, you thought, "Hey, it's not that spicy." But pause for a while, wait for 5 seconds, and baaammm! The spice will kick in and you will have the spiciest experience of your life!! No kidding!!
After 5 bottles of yakult, 5 glasses of water, and one bowl of chicken soup and AN HOUR OF REST, we decided to try the milder version of it, the black one.
When you try this, you will think that it's tolerable since you have already tried the x2 Spicy. But hey, we were wrong. This is the milder version? Really? Are you kidding? This is STILL SOOOOO SPICY!! It's crazy!
The only difference is that the spiciness on the black one disappears faster from your taste buds compared to the red one.
We have another video tasting the black one but it is so embarrassing, we are still thinking whether to post it or remain it as top secret among us. LOL!
Lastly, we tried the mildest of them all. The Samyang Hot Chicken Flavor Ramen CHEESE.
We thought this one will taste cheesy as it claims to be. But heck, it's really spicy! But surprisingly, as your taste buds got attacked by the spiciness of it, you can still taste the cheesiness of this noodles.
In summary, the super insane x2 Spicy (red) is not for the faint of heart. No wonder, it's called the World's Spiciest Noodles. The black one can be enjoyed by those who really eat spicy food on a regular basis. And for beginners, we recommend the cheese flavor.
Also, just a tip, prepare Yakult, milk, ice cream, or chicken noodle soup beside you as it will really burn your mouth! We consumed 15 bottles of Yakult, half can of evaporated milk, and two bowls of chicken noodle soup. Let us say this to you, "YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED." Haha!
